On February 10, 2023, Bayside received official occupancy approval for the clubhouse, marking the completion of a seventeen-year journey that began with a simple vision in 2006. Just two days later, on February 12, the clubhouse hosted its first official event—a Super Bowl party attended by members and supporters. The celebration was a fitting way to open the doors of a facility built through perseverance, volunteerism, community partnerships, and countless hours of dedication from the Bayside family.

In April 2022, the downstairs facilities were completed, allowing Bayside to begin using portions of the clubhouse while work continued elsewhere in the building. Shortly thereafter, the club proudly hosted the BC Rugby Finals, welcoming teams and supporters from across the province. Although access to the new facility was temporary and limited, the event showcased the clubhouse’s potential and provided many visitors with their first glimpse of the remarkable community asset that Bayside had built.
2019 – Reaching New Heights
Construction continued steadily throughout 2019, highlighted by work beginning on the building’s second floor. As the structure rose above the fields, members could see the scale and potential of the future clubhouse taking shape. In May 2018, Bayside celebrated a historic milestone as ground was officially broken on the new clubhouse. Members, supporters, sponsors, and community leaders gathered to mark the beginning of construction on a project that had been more than a decade in the making. 2016 – Approval Secured
After years of planning, consultation, and advocacy, Bayside received formal approval for the clubhouse project in 2016. The approval came with a significant condition: the club would need to secure substantial in-kind contributions and community support to move the project forward. This milestone validated a decade of hard work and demonstrated the confidence that local stakeholders had in Bayside’s vision. The club immediately intensified efforts to secure the partnerships and resources needed to begin construction.
2006 – A Vision Takes Shape
The journey toward Bayside’s new clubhouse began in 2006 when the club launched an ambitious fundraising campaign. Club members, volunteers, sponsors, and supporters rallied behind a shared vision of creating a permanent home that would serve generations of rugby players and the wider community.
